With
the Vigo County Courthouse dome visible in the picture, you
know this project is in the middle of Terre Haute, Indiana. Norman
Tower Service met the challenge of center city construction
to upgrade a public service radio system. |
By
pre-assembling antennas to the top sections of the tower before
hoisting, work, time and money are saved, and the install can
be inspected on the ground before hoisting. |
| The legs and cross-bracing of the lower
sections of this tower are shipped unassembled by the tower
manufacturer to save freight. They are bolted together at the erection
site. The upper sections are of all-welded construction
and are being hoisted into place in this picture. |
While the crane was on location for erecting the new tower, it was used to remove the old tower from the roof of the public safety building, thus saving crane charges and rigging expense for the owner. Norman Tower Service can do quality tower work in the middle of a cornfield or in the middle of a city. Start your next tower project with a call to Norman Tower Service. |
The tower steel parts
arrive from the factory "knocked down", in individual pieces. The
legs and cross-braces are first assembled into sections. Now
they are hoisted into place for final tower assembly. |
The completed piers
for the triangular (3 legs) self-supporting tower are in
place. As soon as the concrete "cures" to full strength,
the tower steel can be "stacked" (erected). |
